Project Description: Talon Nickel (USA) LLC plans to construct a battery minerals processing facility in Mercer County, North Dakota, to support a new domestic cathode supply chain in the United States. Talons proposed facility will process nickel ore from economically viable sources for the domestic manufacture of batteries. Talon has signed a supply agreement with Tesla for 75,000 metric tonnes of nickel in concentrate. The Talon and Tesla supply chain will produce nickel, copper, cobalt and iron in nickel and copper concentrates for multiple battery chemistries. This process improves yield and metal byproduct utilization relative to legacy processing of nickel ores.
