Notes: In October 2022, BMW announced a $1 billion investment in EV manufacturing at its existing plant in Spartanburg and $700 million investment in a facility near Woodruff where EVs batteries will be assembled (partnership with Envision AESC: see a separate 2022 megadeal for Envision). BMW was approved by the state for a $65 million grant for the Spartanburg plant and an undisclosed amount via Job Development Grant. The 300 jobs will be created in the new battery facility in Woodruff; no new jobs were committed at the Spartanburg plant.
