Source of Data: The subsidy figure and the jobs and investment projections came from: Jim Barnett, "Tax Break Potential Lures Huge LSI Project," The Oregonian, July 18, 1995.
Notes: The subsidy award, which LSI insisted on if it was to proceed with the huge project, consisted of local property tax abatements made possible by the state's Strategic Investment Program (SIP). In 2006 the plant was sold to ON Semiconductor, which was given a $1.5 million forgivable loan through the Governor's Strategic Reserve Fund (Mike Rogoway, "ON Semi plans 20 years in Gresham," The Oregonian, May 12, 2006) and later a $420,000 property tax abatement (Quinton Smith, "ON Semiconductor to receive tax break," The Oregonian, May 29, 2010). A $29 million SIP listing for 1995 is included in the main Subsidy Tracker data.
