Project Description: Michigan Business Development Program and Community Development Block Grant: Jackson National Life Insurance Company, a leading provider of retirement solutions and educational resources for industry professionals and consumers, announced it will invest $100 million to expand its headquarters in Lansing. The expansion will include a connector from the existing headquarters building to a new 260k square foot office complex and a new 80k square foot print center and warehouse on an adjacent piece of land. The investment will create 400 jobs over the next 5 years, resulting in a $3 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant and $3 million CDBG infrastructure grant. Michigan was chosen over competing sites in a number of Southern states. The City of Lansing is supporting the project through a 425 revenue sharing agreement between the City and Alaiedon Township which made way for a personal property tax exemption to make the proposed hq expansion possible.
