Project Description: Georgia-Pacific Port Hudson LLC is seeking to make improvements to systems throughout the plant to increase capacity and output and meet ongoing market demands. Strategic investment opportunities are primarily focused on revenue generation, safety, sustaining reliable operations, and modernization. The following key investments have been identified to meet that goal: TAD Towel Investment for Converting Operations: This investment will address equipment limitations and obsolescence while increasing the production capacity in the converting area to match the capacity of the existing TAD Paper Machine production tons. Current operations require excess paper machine tons to be converted out of state. The proposed investment will provide the mill with the capability to process that paper within the GP Port Hudson Mill in the State of Louisiana. Investment includes: One completely new line and two rebuilt lines. The old lines will be torn down to their frames, and a new line put in. Additional investments include: - New palletizing and conveying equipment - TAD Converting Automation - Paper Machine Drives Upgrades - Dust Collection - Infrastructure Opportunities (building improvements) o Chilled Water System Optimization o Concrete Floor Replacement (existing floor can't hold weight of new machinery) - New Motor Control Center building (approximately 2,000 square feet) that will tie in to existing equipment. These investments aim to improve the long-term competitiveness of the plant thereby growing and sustaining production capacity within the State of Louisiana.
