Source of Data: The value of the subsidy package and the jobs projection came from: Kevin Collison, "Kansas offers STAR bonds for Wizards and Cerner Corp. project at Village West," Kansas City Star, October 16, 2009.
Notes: The subsidy package included cash grants, job and capital investment tax credits, training funds, and sales tax exemptions. It was combined with an offer of $144.5 million in STAR bond financing for a new soccer stadium for the Kansas City Wizards, among whose owners are two Cerner executives. In April 2012 Cerner said it expected to open the first tower of the complex in 2013 with 1,000 workers and would eventually increase the workforce to 4,000. See David Twiddy, "Cerner's Kansas City, Kan., campus will open in mid-2013 with 1,000 employees," Kansas City Business Journal, April 24, 2012. Overlaps with main Subsidy Tracker data: none.
