Applicant proposes to purchase and outfit equipment for a fire brigade team, as well as creating a mobile mine rescue station. The mobile mine rescue station and fire brigade equipment would be available for use by mines located throughout the Illinois basin. In cases where trained personnel are not available to assist, Lively Grove Mine personnel would be available to take equipment and use at other sites. In addition, purchase of refuge chambers, and underground data communications equipment to increase emergency preparedness.
