The value and the breakdown of the subsidy package were taken form: Dan Mayfield, "Albuquerque takes Eclipse under its wing," Albuquerque Tribune, July 12, 2001.
The package for Eclipse Aviation, a start-up company that moved from Arizona, included sales tax exemptions on jet plane sales; $37 million for upgrades to Double Eagle II airport where the company planned to be located; 50 percent abatements on rent paid to the city; deferred taxes; and state funds for worker training. The upgrades to the airport were also partially funded with federal money. In 2008, the company filed for bankruptcy and in 2009 was bought by a new company, Eclipse Aerospace. Overlap with main Subsidy Tracker data: a $1.2 million Job Training Incentive Program entry for 2008.
