Notes: Orion Township offered GM a 12-year, $17 million property tax abatement and the state provided a $59.5 million Single Business Tax Credit, both to encourage the company to add product lines to its Lake Orion assembly plant. Initially, GM announced job cuts at Orion but in October 2002 announced expanded Pontiac production there. In 2009 GM was awarded a much bigger subsidy to add small car production at the plant (see separate entry). Overlaps with main Subsidy Tracker data: none.
