Notes: After a long and in-depth investigation, WBEZ Chicago unveiled that since 2015 Amazon received at least $741,450,000 in state and local subsides for 13 warehouses in Cook County, Chicago suburbs. Reported subsidies included: $322 million in Cook County property tax abatements and TIF for a facility in Markham; $108.2 million in TIF for a facility in University Park; $82 million in Cook County property tax abatement for a facility in Matteson; $54.8 million in Illinois EDGE grant and TIF for a facility in Monee; $40 million in TIF for a facility in Waukegan; $14.9 million in a state grant and roadwork for a facility in Aurora; $12.8 million in road improvements for a facility in Channahon; $11.6 million in Cook County property tax abatements for a facility in Palestine; $9.8 million in Cook county property tax abatements for a facility Arlington Heights; $7.8 million in TIF for a facility in Wilmington; $5.2 million in TIF and Cook county property tax abatements for a facility Cicero; and $850,000 in Cook county property tax abatements for a facility in Skokie. Jobs data is a total of full-time jobs at the 13 subsidized warehouses, as reported by WEBZ.
