For an expansion of its data center in West Des Moines (known as Project Alluvion), Microsoft received a package of state and local subsidies that include a sales tax refund of $20,256,000 through the High Quality Jobs Program and $87 million worth of improvements (road, water, sewer, power line and other improvements) around the expansion site paid by the city over 20 years through Tax Increment Financing.
