Subsidy Tracker Individual Entry

The subsidy estimate and the jobs and investment projections came from: Rick Brundrett, "Japan Trips, Other Taxpayer-Funded Freebies Offered to Bridgestone," The Nerve, January 12, 2012; http://thenerve.org/news/2012/01/12/s-c-bridgestone-tire-plant-rolling-in-taxpayer-funded-incentives/. The publication calls its subsidy estimate conservative.
The state subsidy package included a $15.5 million infrastructure grant, $8.6 million in training cost reimbursement, $12.8 million in job development witholding tax rebates and $7 million in corporate income tax credits. The county package included land worth about $10 million and about $4 million in infrastructure improvements. The county also offered a property tax agreement, the value of which The Nerve did not estimate. Overlaps with main Subsidy Tracker data: three Economic Development Set-Aside entries totaling $15.5 million.
