Michigan Business Development Program - KUKA Systems North America LLC, a subsidiary of Germany-based KUKA AG, is a leading global provider of automated production and assembled solutions for the automotive, aerospace, and alternative energy industries. The company plans to expand its existing facility in Clinton Charter Township to support its aerospace business, investing up to $14.4 million and creating 116 jobs. As a result, the company has been awarded a $900,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance based grant. Clinton Charter Township has offered support to the project in the form of property tax abatement. Company officials also worked with the Macomb County to prepare a compelling application for the grants. Michigan Works!, operated locally by the Macomb-St. Clair Workforce Development Board, Inc. offered its services to find and screen candidates for the new jobs created by the company???s expansion.
